Heidi Moreno
Heidi Moreno is an author-illustrator based out of the San Gabriel Valley in a cute town near the foothills. Her work is mostly done traditionally with watercolors, gouache paint and colored pencils. She loves creating characters and imagining what their cozy home looks like.
Her humor illustrated book, Working From Home with a Cat (Chronicle) was published in 2020. She is the author and illustrator of the bilingual children’s book Luna Oscura (Lil’ Libros) published in 2022. She is the illustrator for But I’m a Pumpkin: A Summerween Story written by Kat Choppy (2026, Knopf), and So Many Questions, Abuela becomes a US Citizen, written by Belen Medina (August 2026, Harper Collins).
On most beautiful days, you can find Heidi climbing her local mountains, running the trails and admiring the flora and fauna.

When I’m not in my studio painting, I am outside climbing a mountain with leftover pizza in my pack to enjoy at the summit.
